Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked al dente
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Season the Beef Mixture: Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Combine with Pasta: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked elbow macaroni with the beef mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Add Cheeses: Fold in the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Reserve a small amount of each cheese for topping.
- Incorporate Sour Cream: Gently fold in the sour cream until evenly distributed, adding a creamy texture to the casserole.
- Transfer to Casserole Dish: Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish. Transfer the beef and pasta mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the reserved cheeses over the top of the casserole, creating a cheesy crust when baked.
- Bake in the Oven: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Cheesy Hamburger Casserole!
