Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) of milk
- 125 ml (3/5 cup) vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- Spinach and feta
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 sheets of filo dough
- Poppy seeds
- 1 egg yolk
Method:
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a bowl, mix together the egg, milk, vegetable oil, water, and salt.
- Layer the Filo Dough:
- Lay out a sheet of filo dough and pour a bit of the mixture, spreading it evenly over the entire sheet.
- Repeat this process twice, creating a stack of three filo layers.
- Prepare the Filling:
- Combine crumbled feta cheese and cooked spinach. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the spinach and feta mixture over the filo dough.
- Roll and Cut:
- Roll the filo dough from one end to the other, forming a log or strip.
- Cut the rolled dough into triangles and place them on a baking sheet.
- Brush with Egg Yolk:
- Brush each triangle with beaten egg yolk.
- Sprinkle and Bake:
- Sprinkle poppy seeds over the triangles for an extra burst of flavor.
- Bake at 180°C (356°F) for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown.
