Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the meatball ingredients – ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, eggs, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tomato sauce. In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
  6. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and diced tomatoes. Season with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  8. Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and set aside.
  9. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  10. In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce. Place the cooked spaghetti on top of the sauce, followed by the baked meatballs.
  11. Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the meatballs and spaghetti, ensuring everything is well-coated.
  12. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  14. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Enjoy your delicious baked meatball and spaghetti dish!
