Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all the meatball ingredients – ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, eggs, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tomato sauce. In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and diced tomatoes. Season with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and set aside.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce. Place the cooked spaghetti on top of the sauce, followed by the baked meatballs.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the meatballs and spaghetti, ensuring everything is well-coated.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Enjoy your delicious baked meatball and spaghetti dish!
