Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. Dredge in Flour: Dredge each pork chop in the all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
  4. Brown the Pork Chops: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the pork chops and brown them on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Once browned, transfer the pork chops to a plate and set aside.

  7. Return Pork Chops to Skillet: Return the browned pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the vegetable mixture.
  8. Bake in the Oven: Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pork chops are cooked through and tender.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve the juicy smothered pork chops over rice, mashed potatoes, or your preferred side dish.
