Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, dried thyme, and black pepper. Whisk the ingredients together until the mixture is well blended.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the sweet and tangy sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs, skin side down, for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip the chicken and sear the other side for an additional 3 minutes.
  5. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish, skin side up. Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius). Baste the chicken with the sauce halfway through the baking time.
  7. Optional: Broil the chicken for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a caramelized, crispy skin.
  8. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Serve this Sweet and Tangy Chicken over rice or alongside roasted vegetables for a memorable meal that perfectly balances the sweetness of honey with the zing of Dijon mustard. Enjoy the harmonious flavors of this easy-to-make dish!
