Tonight will be my third time making this recipe. It’s so good, and the sauce is to die for.
Preparation:
To make the patties, mix together all the ingredients and form into approximately 3/4-inch-thick patties.
Arrange the sliced mushrooms and onions in the bottom of your slow cooker.
Sear the patties in a pan until they are well browned on both sides. Even though you may just throw the patties into the slow cooker, browning them first brings out the most flavor. When they are finished, put them on top of the slow cooker’s layer of mushrooms and onions.
Mix together all the gravy ingredients (excluding cornstarch) and pour over the meat and vegetables. Turn the heat down to low and cover the slow cooker. Give it around five hours to cook.
Take the patties out five hours later. Select the “high” setting on the slow cooker. When the gravy starts to thicken, add the cornstarch, whisk it in, and continue cooking.
Make sure the patties receive a generous layer of sauce by dipping them back into the slow cooker. Present and savor!
Whether you’ve had it before or are just getting started, this Salisbury steak will make you feel warm and satisfied. Have fun!
