  • 1.5 lbs (680g) sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prep the Ingredients:

  • Ensure the steak is at room temperature for even cooking.
  • Peel and dice the potatoes into bite-sized cubes.
  • Mince the garlic and chop the fresh parsley.

2. Season the Steak:

  • Pat the steak strips dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Season the steak with salt, black pepper, and paprika, ensuring an even coating.

3. Cook the Potatoes:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add the diced potatoes to the skillet, spreading them out in a single layer.
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown and cooked through.

4. Cook the Steak:

  • Push the potatoes to one side of the skillet and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the empty side.
  • Add the seasoned steak strips to the skillet, arranging them in a single layer.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, add minced garlic and dried thyme to the skillet, stirring to combine with the steak and infuse the flavors.

5. Combine and Serve:

  • Once the steak is cooked, combine it with the potatoes in the skillet, allowing the flavors to meld for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

6. Serve:

  • Spoon the garlic butter steak and potatoes onto serving plates.
  • Serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious one-pan garlic butter steak and potatoes skillet!

This savory and satisfying dish pairs well with a side of steamed vegetables or a crisp green salad for a complete meal.
