The KFC original secret chicken recipe

KFC’s original secret chicken formula is one of the most well-known trade secrets in the food industry and is jealously guarded by the corporation. Although the precise KFC secret recipe is unknown to us, there are a number of imitation recipes and methods that claim to be able to capture the iconic KFC flavor. Remember that these are only efforts to replicate the flavor, not the official KFC recipes.

This is a condensed version of a homemade fried chicken recipe that was motivated by the original KFC recipe:

• 4-6 pieces of chicken (a mix of drumsticks, thighs, and wings)
• 2 cups of buttermilk
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon paprika
• 1 tablespoon garlic powder
• 1 tablespoon onion powder
• 1 tablespoon dried thyme
• 1 tablespoon dried basil
• 1 tablespoon dried oregano
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 1 tablespoon black pepper
• Vegetable oil for frying
